When you need a small amount of Sponge Cake for dessert or you simply crave it, this Sponge Cake can be made in 5 minutes. I am writing this recipe for my own future reference.
1 to 2 servings
*Today I used Microwave-safe Container 13cm in diameter
1 large Egg
2 tablespoons Caster Sugar
3 tablespoons Self-Raising Flour
1/2 tablespoon Oil OR melted Butter *plus extra to oil the container
- Lightly oil the inside of a microwave-safe container.
- In a mixing bowl, beat Egg and Sugar. Add a few drops Vanilla Extract, Flour and Oil (OR melted Butter) and mix well. Pour the mixture into the prepared container.
- Cover with a microwave-safe lid or plate, microwave at medium power (500 to 600W) until cooked. My microwave is 1100W and cooked at 50% power for 90 seconds.
- *Note: I sprinkled with some Powdered Sugar for the above photo.
