This is a Broccoli version of my ‘Pan-fried Garlic Cheese Cauliflower’. To cook this dish, you only need a frying pan and a fitting lid. I believe pan-steam-frying is the best way to cook Broccoli. This dish is absolutely easy, quick, and delicious.

Makes

4 Servings

Ingredients

1 large head Broccoli *cut into small florets, thick stem cut into small pieces
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic *optional, finely chopped
2 pinches Salt
2 to 3 tablespoons Water
1 cupful (80-100g) coarsely grated Cheese *I used Cheese Mix for baking (mix of Cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan)
Black Pepper

Method
  1. Drizzle Olive Oil over a non-stick frying pan, scatter Garlic, and arrange Broccoli pieces. Add Water and sprinkle with Salt. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for a few minutes.
  2. When the Water in the pan is evaporated, remove the lid, scatter grated Cheese evenly, cover with the lid again, and cook until the Cheese is melted. Remove the lid and cook until nicely browned.
  3. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with some freshly ground Black Pepper, and extra Salt if required.
