Spicy_Almonds
How can I translate a Japanese word ‘Otsumami’ into English? It is not ‘Appetiser’ or ‘Snack’. ‘Otsumami’ is something to nibble often with drink which is most likely alcoholic drink. On the other day I needed to make ‘Otsumami’ quickly for an unexpected occasion and this ‘Spicy Almonds’ was perfect. You don’t have to follow this recipe to make the ‘Homemade Chilil Seasoning’. Just add a shake of those spices to the almonds and it’s done.


Ingredients

Almonds 1 cup
Olive Oil 1 to 2 tablespoons

Homemade Chilil Seasoning
Dried Oregano 1 tablespoon
Ground Cumin 1 teaspoon
Ground Red Chill 1 teaspoon
Ground Paprika 1 teaspoon
Garlic Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon

Method

1. Place Olive Oil and Almonds in a frypan, cook on medium heat until aromatic.
2. Drain the oil if too much using paper towel. Add the seasoning and coat the almonds.
3. Place paper towel on a plate, spread the almonds on the paper towel and cool.
