On the day I came across yummy Fried Pepitas at a friend’s house. She said she’d bought them at a farmers’ market. I loved them but I found they were quite pricy. I though it should be easy to make, so I tried. It was indeed super easy to make. You can use your favourite spices but the following combination is quite good.

Ingredients

1/2 to 2/3 cup shelled Pepitas (Pumpkin Seeds)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Salt *finely ground
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cumin
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon Dried Oregano
1/4 teaspoon Ground Chilli

Method
  1. Combine all the seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Heat Olive Oil in a small frying pan or saucepan over low heat, cook Pepitas for 1-2 minutes or until slightly browned. Remove from the heat.
  3. Add the seasoning and mix to combine. Spread over paper towel to cool and remove excess Oil.
