
Someone gave my husband their homemade Honey. It was totally different quality from the Honey I buy from supermarkets and absolutely delicious. I have been enjoying the Honey with toast, but today I made this mug cake. I cooked it for 80 seconds in my 1000W microwave, and it seemed a little too long. The mug cake turned dry, but it was OK. Because I enjoyed it with extra Butter and Honey.
Makes
1 Serving *I used 380ml mug
Ingredients
1 tablespoon Butter *plus extra
2 tablespoons Honey *plus extra
1 pinch Salt
1 Egg *OR 2 tablespoons Milk
*Note: Mug Cake made with Egg has superior texture, but Milk can be used.
4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) Self-Raising Flour
Toasted Almond Flakes *optional
Method
- Place Butter and Honey in a mug, microwave for 20-30 seconds OR until Butter melts. Mix well.
- Add Salt and Egg, and mix well, then add Self-Raising Flour, and mix until smooth. If you add Toasted Almond Flakes, place some on top.
- Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds OR until cooked. *Note: Try not to over-cook it as the cake turns very dry. I used 1000W microwave and 80 seconds was a little too long.
- Enjoy with some extra Butter and Honey.
