If you searched for Chocolate Biscuits (OR Cookies) recipes, you would find very many. This recipe is based on my ‘Basic Cookie Dough’. These Biscuits are very simple ones. You can add Chocolate Chips, Nuts OR Dried Fruit, etc.

Ingredients
125g Butter *softened
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Caster Sugar
*Note: You can use 1/2 cup Brown Sugar only, OR 1/2 cup Caster Sugar only.
1 pinch Salt
1 large Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder *sifted
1/4 teaspoon Bi-Carb Soda *optional
1 & 1/2 cups Self-Rising Flour
Method
- Preheat oven to 180℃. Line a large baking tray OR 2 trays with baking paper.
- Beat softened Butter, Sugars and Salt until smooth. Beat in Egg and Vanilla, and mix well until creamy. Add Cocoa Powder, Bi-Carb Soda and Self-Raising Flour, and mix well.
- Roll the dough into 24 balls, about 3cm size, and place on the prepared tray(s). *Note: You need to flatten the balls into discs for flatter and larger Biscuits. See the difference in the photos below.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
