I often make these ‘Crunchy Marinated Tofu’ for salad topping. I love crispy croutons but croutons are bread. They are carbohydrate. Tofu is packed with nutrients. Some people say that ‘Tofu’ is bland and tasteless. Why don’t you season it?
400 to 500g Firm Tofu
1 cup Cold Water
1 teaspoon Salt
Herbs and/or Spices of your choice *optional
Oil for cooking
- Mix Cold Water and Salt to make salty water. The saltiness is up to your preference. Add Herbs and Spices if you wish to add flavour. (*e.g. Black Pepper, Rosemary, Thyme, Bay Leaves, Garlic, Lemon, Dill, etc.)
- Cut Firm Tofu into small cubes, place in a container and cover with the salty water. I recommend to keep in the fridge overnight.
- Take out some tofu cubes that you are cooking, and dry with paper towel. Heat small amount of Oil in a frying pan, cook the tofu cubes until browned.
