Super_Easy_Apple_Cake

‘Apple Pie’ is very nice on a cold winter day but it’s not super easy to make, at least for me. This cake is absolutely Super Easy and tastes just like ‘Apple Pie’. When you feel like ‘Apple Pie’ but don’t want to bother, this is it! This cake is nice both hot and cold, with cream or ice cream, and I mustn’t forget a nice hot cup of tea.

Cake Tin

18cm x 27cm Cake Tin

60g Butter *softened
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
3 ‘Granny Smith’ Apples *peeled OR not-peeled, cored and cut into cubes
1/2 cup Almonds (Raw or Roasted) *coarsely chopped, can be replaced by Pecans or other nuts
1 cup Self-Raising Flour
2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 170C. Lightly grease a cake tin or line with baking paper. You can also bake this cake in a pie dish.
  2. Mix softened Butter and Sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Add Eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add Apples & Almonds and combine, then Flour & Cinnamon and combine all well.
  3. Bake about 50-60 minutes or until golden and cooked through. If getting too dark, cover with foil.
  4. Serve hot with cream, or this cake is also nice when cold.
