If you have leftover ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce that you made OR bought for your Japanese style BBQ, you can use it for many dishes as a seasoning sauce. Today I used it to cook this simple dish of Ramen Noodles. If you don’t have it, try Quick & Easy ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce which is included in this recipe. Udon Noodles OR Spaghetti can be used instead of Ramen Noodles. Thinly sliced Beef and Pork are available from many stores these days. Using them, this dish is super quick and easy to cook.
Makes
1 Serving
Ingredients
1 serving Ramen Noodles
1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
100g thinly sliced Beef OR Pork *cut into bite-size pieces
1/4 Onion *thinly sliced
1 Cabbage Leaf *OR other vegetable, e.g. Carrot
*Note: All vegetables need to be thinly sliced OR cut into strips.
2 tablespoons ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce *plus extra if required
Finely chopped Spring Onion
Shichimi (Japanese Chilli Spice Mix) *optional
Quick & Easy ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce
1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Seeds *ground
1/2 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1/2 tablespoon Mirin
1/2 teaspoon grated Ginger
1/2 teaspoon grated Garlic
1/2 to 1 teaspoon Toban Djan (Chilli Bean Sauce) *OR Chilli Flakes
Method
- If you want to make ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce for this dish, combine all the ingredients of Quick & Easy ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce in a small bowl.
- Cook Ramen Noodles (OR other Noodles) as instructed. Today I used already cooked Ramen Noodles. I heated them in boiling water until soft, then drained.
- Meanwhile, heat Sesame Oil in a frying pan over medium heat, and cook vegetables for a few minutes, add Beef OR Pork, stir until the meat is cooked.
- Add ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce, and stir. Add the drained Ramen Noodles, and mix to combine. Add extra ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce OR Soy Sauce if required.
- Place in a serving bowl, add plenty Spring Onion, and enjoy. You may wish to add Shichimi (Japanese Chilli Spice Mix) OR some Chilli Sauce for extra heat.
