Crumbles for Cakes, Pies and Slices can be made with Butter, Sugar and Flour. My basic ratio is about same weight of each. You can use less Flour, add Oats and Nuts, and add flavours such as Ground Cinnamon or Matcha Powder. The amount of dry ingredients can be easily increased as long as the mixture turns into crumbles.

Ingredients

50g Butter *softened
50g Caster Sugar *3-4 tablespoons
50g Plain Flour OR Self-Raising Flour *OR add Oats and Nuts
*Note: The amount of Flour (OR dry ingredients) can be increased as long as the mixture turns into crumbles.

Additional Ingredients
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 to 2 teaspoons Matcha Powder

Method
  1. Place softened Butter in a bowl, add Sugar, and mix well. Add Flour and other dry ingredients, and mix to form crumble.
  2. *Note: If you add Matcha Powder, sift in and mix well before you add Flour.
*Note: The mixture could become too soft when Butter is too soft OR nearly melted. Cool the mixture in the fridge to firm it ip.
