The other day, I was unwell and I craved sweet cake, but there was no cake at home. You have been in such a situation before, haven’t you? If you have a microwave, you can make this Instant Mug Cake in less than 5 minutes. This is the basic Plain Mug Cake recipe. You can add some Cocoa Powder, Instant Coffee, Chocolate Chips, Fruit Jam, OR anything you want.

1 Serving *I used 380ml mug

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Butter *1 tablespoon is 15ml
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 Egg
4 tablespoons Self-Raising Flour
*Note: You can add some Vanilla, Instant Coffee, Cocoa Powder, Chocolate Chips, Fruit Jam, Sultanas, etc.

Method

1. Place Butter in a mug, microwave for 20-30 seconds OR until Butter melts. Add Sugar and mix well.
2. Add Egg and mix well, then add Flour and mix well until smooth.
3. Microwave for 1 to 1 & 1/2 minutes OR until cooked. Enjoy with Jam, Cream, Syrup, etc. *Note: Try not to over-cook it as the cake turns hard.
