Meatballs are easy to make, and can be a fun activity to enjoy with children. This is a great finger food for parties, but you may wish to make patties for your family’s dinner. Today I served them with Yoghurt Sauce, but Tomato based sauces, sweet ones OR spicy ones, are also good. Serve them with your favourite sauce.
Makes
4 Servings
Ingredients
Lamb Meatballs
500g Lamb Mince
1/2 to 1 Onion *finely chopped
1 clove Garlic *grated OR finely chopped
2 tablespoons finely chopped Parsley
1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
1 Egg
2 teaspoons Dry Mixed Herbs
*Note: The Mixed Herbs that I used contained dried Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, Basil and Sage
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
*Note: Finely crumbled Fetta Cheese can be a great addition.
Yoghurt Sauce
1/2 cup Unsweetened Greek Yoghurt
1 clove Garlic *grated
1-2 teaspoons Olive Oil
1-2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
Finely chopped Parsley and Dill *OR other Herbs of your choice
Method
- Combine all the Yoghurt Sauce ingredients in a small bowl. *Note: I added some Herbs and Black Pepper on top for presentation.
- Place all Lamb Meatball ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix to combine. Form into bite-size balls.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the pan if required, but I didn’t oil my non-stick pan. Cook the Meatballs until nicely browned and cooked through. Serve with the Yoghurt Sauce.
