Vegetables_Beans_Gomaae

Green Beans can be replaced with other Vegetables like Spinach, Carrot, Asian Mushrooms, Asparagus, Gobo, Broccoli, etc. This is one of the most popular ‘Ae-mono’, a type of Japanese salad, and my most favourite vegetable dish.

Ingredients

About 350g Green Beans
*Beans can be replaced with Spinach, Carrot, Japanese Mushrooms (eg. Shiitake & Shimeji), Broccoli, Asparagus or other vegetables.

‘Goma-ae’ Sauce

2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds *ground
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce

Method
  1. Grind Roasted Sesame Seeds, add Sugar and Soy Sauce and mix well to make sauce.
  2. Cut vegetables in bite size and boil until tender, then drain. If you use Shiitake or Shimeji, grill or stir fry on a frying pan.
  3. Combine vegetables and the sauce well.
