On a hot summer day, you don’t want to cook Pasta? Angel Hair Pasta (Capellini) can be cooked in 2-3 minutes. Cool the cooked pasta in cold water, and mix with the fiery sauce. Add plenty of refreshing salad vegetable and some protein, I added Roast Pork and Boiled Egg today. It’s spicy, sour, sweet and salty. You will love this dish.

Makes

1 Serving

Ingredients

1 serving (80g) Angel Hair Pasta (Capellini) *OR other thin pasta
Salt for cooking Pasta
1 cupful Additional Ingredients of your choice *e.g. Cucumber, Lettuce, Carrot, Onion, Spring Onion, Roast Pork, Shredded Chicken, Ham, etc.
1 Boiled Egg *optional
Crispy Chilli Oil OR Chilli Sauce *optional

Sauce
1 small clove Garlic *grated
1/2 tablespoon Sugar
1/2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1/2 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
1/2 tablespoon Sesame Oil
1/2 to 1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean Spicy Miso) *Note: I added 1/2 tablespoon, but I wished if I had added more.

Method
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the Sauce ingredients. You may wish to add more Gochujang.
  2. Before you start cooking Angel Hair Pasta, prepare all other ingredients. I recommend to cut them into strips, so that it would be easy to eat them with Angel Hair Pasta.
  3. Cook Angel Hair Pasta in boiling salted water according to the instruction on the package. It takes 2 to 3 minutes. Drain, cool them in cold water, drain, cool again, then drain. Pasta should be COLD.
  4. Add the drained Pasta to the Sauce, mix to combine, add other ingredients, and mix to combine. Add some Crispy Chilli Oil (OR Chilli Sauce) for extra heat.
  5. *Note: You can arrange the ingredients on top, then pour the Sauce over before you eat.
