Everyone loves the simple stir-fry of Egg and Garlic Chives (‘Nira’ in Japanese). The combination of Garlic Chives and Egg is delicious in soup as well, and so is it in fried rice. This fried rice is very garlicky. Remind yourself the smell of your breath if you meet someone after eating this fried rice.
Makes
1 Serving
Ingredients
20g Garlic Chives (Nira) *cut to 1cm pieces
1 Egg *whisked
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
1 tablespoon Oil
1 serving warm Cooked Rice *about 200g
1/4 teaspoon Asian Chicken Bouillon Powder
1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
Salt & White Pepper
Method
- Heat Oil and Garlic in a frying pan over medium heat, add Egg and warm Cooked Rice, and cook stirring and breaking up lumps.
- When half cooked, add Garlic Chives (Nira) and Asian Chicken Bouillon Powder (if you add it), and keep stirring for a few minutes. Sprinkle Soy Sauce at the edges of the fried rice, direct to the pan, then quickly mix to combine.
- *Note: The reason why you add Soy Sauce to the pan is to slightly burn the Soy Sauce for a flavour.
- Season with Salt & White Pepper as required.
