I cook Teriyaki Chicken quite often. It is a very popular dish for Bento Lunch among my family members. I sometimes add grated Ginger to it for an extra flavour. If I add a little bit of Garlic as well, they might get complaints from other hungry staff members at work, because the smell of the Teriyaki Chicken is absolutely irresistible!

Makes

2 Servings

Ingredients

300 to 400g Chicken Thigh Fillets
1 pinch Salt
Oil for cooking *optional
Toasted Sesame Seeds

Ginger & Garlic Teriyaki Sauce
1/2 teaspoon grated Ginger
1/2 teaspoon grated Garlic
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce *alter the amount to suit your taste
1 tablespoon Mirin

Method
  1. Combine all the Sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Lightly season Chicken Fillets with Salt. Heat a small amount of Oil in a frying pan (*No Oil if non-stick pan is used) over medium-high heat, cook Chicken Fillets until nicely browned on both sides. Remove excess Oil using paper towel if you want to do so, then pour the sauce over and keep cooking until the sauce thickens.
  3. Sprinkle with some Toasted Sesame Seeds and serve.
