‘Goma-ae’, the dish of vegetables seasoned with sweet sesame seeds sauce is very popular with my family. Most commonly I use cooked vegetables such as Green Beans, Carrot or Spinach. I recently discovered fresh cucumber is also very tasty with ‘Goma-ae’ sauce.

Ingredients
1 large Continental Cucumber *OR 2 Lebanese Cucumbers
1/4 teaspoon Salt
‘Goma-ae’ Sauce
1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds *ground
1/2 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
Method
- Cut Cucumber in bite-size pieces. Sprinkle Salt and massage, then set aside. *Note: The Cucumber in the above photo was cut in the same way as Cucumber Snake.
- To make ‘Goma-ae’ sauce, toast Sesame Seeds in a sauce pan until golden, then grind until aromatic. Do not over grind! Then add Sugar and Soy Sauce and mix well.
- Combine the cucumber and the sauce well and serve immediately.
