I received a message about one of my single-serving recipes. The person who wrote the message was happy to find my single-serving recipes as the person was living alone and looking for good recipes for just one person. Then I decided to share this Apple Crumble recipe. It’s a proper Apple Crumble. I wouldn’t want to heat up my oven to cook only this, but you might have an alternative cooking tool such as mini oven OR air fryer.

Makes

1 Serving

Ingredients

1 Granny Smith Apple OR other Cooking Apple
1/2 tablespoon Sugar
1/8 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon *optional
1 tablespoon Sultanas *optional

Crumble
1 tablespoon (15g) Butter *softened
1 tablespoon Sugar *Caster Sugar, Brown Sugar OR other Sugar of your choice
2 tablespoons Plain Flour OR Self-Raising Flour
1/8 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon *optional
Extra Flour OR Rolled Oats as required

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 180℃.
  2. Peel Apple, cut into 2cm pieces, place in a ramekin OR small baking dish. I used 1 cup capacity ramekin.
  3. Sprinkle with Sugar and Cinnamon. You may wish to add Sultanas.
  4. To make Crumble, combine softened Butter and Sugar. Add Flour and Cinnamon, and mix well. Probably the mixture is too soft. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons extra Flour OR Rolled Oats, and make the mixture into crumble.
  5. Cover the Apple with Crumble. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes OR until Crumble is nicely browned and Apple is soft.

  6. Enjoy with Cream OR Vanilla Ice Cream.
