Takikomigohan

‘Takikomigohan’ is a Japanese rice dish commonly seasoned with Dashi and Soy Sauce. Just cook Rice and Chicken and other ingredients in a rice cooker. The ingredients can be Vegetables, Mushrooms, Meat, Fish and Seafood that are cooked with the rice.

4 to 6 Servings

Ingredients

3 cups (*180ml cup) Rice
Total of 400 to 500g Chicken, Carrot, Konnyaku (Konjac), Potato, Shiitake, Shimeji, etc.

Soup

1 teaspoon Dashi Powder
1 tablespoon Mirin
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons Sake
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Water to make the soup 600ml

Method
  1. Cut Chicken and Vegetables into small pieces. Make them in total of 400 to 500g.
  2. Wash Rice by stirring it thoroughly in water with your hand and drain the water. Repeat this three or four times until water flows through clear.
  3. Drain the rice and place into the rice cooker’s inner pot. Add Chicken and Vegetables and 600ml Soup.
  4. Cook them all together in the way to cook rice.
