Here is another single-serving recipe for you to try, but it would be easy to double it. It is the very popular ‘Creamy Garlic Prawn Pasta’ and I added some Chilli Flakes. I am confident this dish tastes as good as the restaurant dish, if not better. I used Frozen shelled Prawns that I always stock in the freezer. It is much easier to cook than you think.

Makes

1 Serving

Ingredients

1 serving (about 80g) Pasta *I used Fettuccine
Salt for cooking Pasta
100g shelled Prawns *thawed if frozen
1 tablespoon Sake (Rice Wine) OR White Wine
1/4 Onion *thinly sliced
1 small clove Garlic *finely chopped
1/8 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
15g (1 tablespoon) Butter
1 tablespoon Plain Flour *1 tablespoon is 15ml
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 teaspoon Chicken Bouillon Powder OR 1/4 Stock Cube *I used Asian Chicken Bouillon Powder
Salt to taste
Ground Black Pepper *optional
Grated Parmesan *optional
Finely chopped Parsley *optional

Method
  1. Sprinkle Sake (Rice Wine) OR White Wine over the Prawns, and set aside.
  2. Prepare all other ingredients and make them ready to use.
  3. Cook Pasta (I used Fettuccine) in boiling salted water according to the instruction on the package.
  4. Melt Butter in a frying pan over medium heat, cook Onion, Garlic and Chilli. When Onion is softened, add Prawns with all liquid, stir until Prawns change colour.
  5. Add Flour and stir, add Milk and Chicken Bouillon Powder, and stir until thick. Season with Salt, then add cooked Pasta with some salted water that has been cooking Pasta, and mix to combine.
  6. Sprinkle with some freshly ground Black Pepper, grated Parmesan and finely chopped Parsley if you add any, and enjoy.
