This is a Brussel Sprouts version of ‘Pan-fried Broccoli & Cheese’ that I frequently cook for dinner. The other day I cooked ‘Pan-fried Garlic Butter Brussels Sprouts’, but I decided to add Cheese, because Brussels Sprouts are not popular among male members of my family. They ate these Brussel Sprouts. All of them.

Makes

4 Servings

Ingredients

12 Brussels Sprouts *trimmed and cut in half
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
2 pinches Salt
4 tablespoons Water
3/4 to 1 cup (about 80g) coarsely grated Cheese *I used shredded Cheese Mix (Cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan)
Black Pepper

Method
  1. Drizzle Olive Oil over a non-stick frying pan, arrange Brussels Sprouts with cut side down, and scatter Garlic. Sprinkle with Salt and Water, cover with a lid and steam-cook for a few minutes.
  2. When the Water in the pan is evaporated, remove the lid, scatter grated Cheese evenly, cover with the lid again, and cook until the Cheese is melted.
  3. Remove the lid and cook until nicely browned.
  4. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with some freshly ground Black Pepper, and serve.
