
In a supermarket, I saw a young man buying Gnocchi and choosing a tub of sauce. He chose the white sauce. I wanted to teach him this recipe. Read the instructions below. It is so easy. While you are boiling water to cook Gnocchi, the sauce will be done. If you don’t bake it, it would be even easier and quicker.

Ingredients
500g store-bought Gnocchi
Salt for cooking Gnocchi
Oil OR Butter to grease a baking dish
40g Butter
1 cup Peas
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) Plain Flour
2 cups Milk
Salt & Pepper *I added 1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cupful grated Tasty Cheese (Cheddar) *OR Cheese of your choice
Finely chopped Parsley *optional
Method
- Preheat oven to 220℃. Lightly grease a large baking dish with Oil OR Butter.
- Melt 40g Butter in a large frying pan over medium heat, add Peas. When bubbling, add Flour and stir, then add Milk, and stir until thickens. Season with Salt and Pepper.
- Meanwhile, cook Gnocchi in boiling salted water. Drain and add to the sauce, roughly combine, then pour into the prepared baking dish, spread evenly. Cover with grated Cheese.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes OR until golden. Sprinkle with finely chopped Parsley and some ground Pepper, and serve.
