A few days ago, I tried ‘Savoury Potato Pancake’ recipe that I found on a Japanese cooking site. I would not approve the recipe. The grated raw potato has an unpleasant smell and the cooked potato pancakes still have the smell. You got to get rid of the smell. Then I started trying to make the easiest and yummy Potato Bread. Now I can share the recipe of this ‘Potato Flat Bread’ that has no unpleasant smell. It can be baked in the oven, or you can cook using a frying pan.
Makes
2 to 3 Servings
Ingredients
Large Potato 1
Olive Oil OR Butter 2 tablespoons
Milk 2 to 3 tablespoons *OR Water
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Self-Raising Flour 1 cup *250ml
Parsley 2 tablespoons *finely chopped
Method
- Preheat oven to 200℃.
- Peel the skin of Potato and grate it finely into a heat-proof bowl and keep all the liquid. Add Oil or Butter, and mix well. Heat in the Microwave for 1 minutes. This will get rid of the unpleasant small.
- Add Milk and Salt, and stir well to mix. Add Flour and Parsley, then mix well to form a soft dough.
- Place the dough on the lightly oiled baking tray, OR lined with baking paper. Drizzle some Olive Oil to help you flatten the dough to the desired thickness. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden.
- *Note: Thinner dough can be baked at a lower temperature (180℃) possibly for longer time to make crunchy bread.
