My family’s favourite Spinach dish is definitely ‘Goma-ae Spinach’, however it contains a fair amount of Soy Sauce. I am trying to reduce Salt intake because of my husband’s health issue. Today I used Japanese Mayonnaise to seasoned it and I added only 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce to this dish. It was salty enough for us.
Makes
2 Servings
Ingredients
1/2 bunch Spinach *200g after blanched and squeezed
1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds *ground
1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Sugar
1/4 cup Corn Kernels *frozen is OK
1 can (95g) Tuna *drained, I used Tuna in Springwater
2 tablespoons Japanese Mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon Rice Vinegar
Method
- Wash Spinach and blanch in boiling water. Dip in cold water to stop cooking further, drain well and squeeze to remove excess water. *Note: Today the Spinach weighed about 200g after squeezed.
- Cut into 3-4cm in length and place in a mixing bowl. Add ground Toasted Sesame Seeds, Soy Sauce and Sugar, and mix well.
- Add all other ingredients, and mix to combine. Taste the flavour. You may wish to add extra Soy Sauce.
