Temaki-zushi is basically Sushi Rolls that everyone rolls by themselves at dinner table. This is so easy to prepare and perfect for entertaining. Sushi Rice, Nori Sheets and a platter of variety of fillings are served. Everyone at the table places some Sushi Rice and filling on Nori Sheet and rolls by themselves to eat. Serve Clear Soup as well.

3 cups (180ml cup) Rice *short grain Japanese rice
72ml Rice Vinegar
4 tablespoons (60ml) Sugar
1 & 1/5 teaspoons (6ml) Salt
Nori Sheets
Soy Sauce
Wasabi
Filling Suggestions (*cut into strips)
Fish & Seafood
Sashimi (raw fresh fish)
Smoked Salmon
Cooked Prawns
Kabayaki Eel
Canned Tuna & Kewpie Mayonnaise (*just mixed)
Tuna Sashimi & Spring Onion (*finely chopped and mixed)
Salmon Roe
Chicken, Meat & Egg
Teriyaki Chicken
Tonkatsu (pork cutlet)
Yakitori & Yakiniku
Ham
Tamagoyaki (omelet)
Vegetables
Cucumber
Carrot (*cooked in salted water or sliced into thin strips)
Avocado
Radish Sprout
Shiso (perilla)
Lettuce
Japanese Pickles (radish, ginger, cucumber, etc.)
Umeboshi

Method
- Cook Sushi Rice.
- Place Nori Sheet on a plate, then spread small amount of Sushi Rice thinly, place some fillings on top the rice and roll up by hands and eat. Some people may wish to have some dipping Soy Sauce and Wasabi. Serve with hot Clear Soup (and cold wine!!!)
- There is no rule. Be creative and enjoy.
