This is an old recipe that I had in my recipe book for decades. I don’t remember where it came from, but I am sharing it with everyone. It can be made with basic ingredients only, and great with Ice Cream, Waffles, Churros, Crepes, Pancakes, etc.

Makes

About 180ml

Ingredients

1/2 cup Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
1 very small pinch Salt
1/2 tablespoon Corn Starch
1/2 cup Water
10g Butter
A few drops Vanilla Extract

Method
  1. In a saucepan, combine Brown Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Salt and Corn Starch. Add Water, mix well, and bring to the boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  2. When it is boiled and thickened, remove from heat, add Butter and Vanilla, and stir to combine well. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
