This is an old recipe that I had in my recipe book for decades. I don’t remember where it came from, but I am sharing it with everyone. It can be made with basic ingredients only, and great with Ice Cream, Waffles, Churros, Crepes, Pancakes, etc.
Makes
About 180ml
Ingredients
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
1 very small pinch Salt
1/2 tablespoon Corn Starch
1/2 cup Water
10g Butter
A few drops Vanilla Extract
Method
- In a saucepan, combine Brown Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Salt and Corn Starch. Add Water, mix well, and bring to the boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- When it is boiled and thickened, remove from heat, add Butter and Vanilla, and stir to combine well. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
