Some dessert recipes require Syrup as an ingredient. Basic Syrup is really easy to make. Heat a same amount of Sugar and Water until Sugar is completely dissolved. Of course you can make it in a microwave.
Ingredients
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Caster Sugar
Method
- Place Water in a small saucepan and bring it to the boil.
- Add Caster Sugar and bring back to the boil over medium heat, and Sugar should be completely dissolved by then. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
- You may wish to add Lemon Juice, Rum or liquor of your choicer to the syrup.
- *Note: The ratio of Sugar and Water is 1 :1. The amount of Sugar can be increased to the ratio 3 : 2, that means slightly more Sugar. However, too much Sugar would cause crystallising.
