Some dessert recipes require Syrup as an ingredient. Basic Syrup is really easy to make. Heat a same amount of Sugar and Water until Sugar is completely dissolved. Of course you can make it in a microwave.

1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Caster Sugar

  1. Place Water in a small saucepan and bring it to the boil.
  2. Add Caster Sugar and bring back to the boil over medium heat, and Sugar should be completely dissolved by then. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  3. You may wish to add Lemon Juice, Rum or liquor of your choicer to the syrup.
  4. *Note: The ratio of Sugar and Water is 1 :1. The amount of Sugar can be increased to the ratio 3 : 2, that means slightly more Sugar. However, too much Sugar would cause crystallising.
