I loved the basil hummus that I found on Cookpad. The basil flavoured hummus suits my taste better than classic hummus, but it was a little too heavy for me. So I am now writing the altered recipe for myself. You can find the original recipe here.


1 can (400 g) Chickpeas *drained and rinsed
1 cloves Garlic
Juice of 1 large Lemon
3 tablespoons Tahini
Salt & Black Pepper as required
2-3 tablespoons Cold Water
1 handful Basil Leaves
Ground Paprika
Olive Oil

  1. Place Chickpeas and Garlic in the food processor, and blend. Then add Lemon Juice, Tahini, Salt & Pepper, and blend until smooth.
  2. Add Cold Water gradually until the paste turns soft as required. Finally add Basil Leaves and blend as you like.
  3. Sprinkle some Ground Paprika and drizzle Olive Oil over and enjoy.
