When I want to eat sweet cake but there is no cake at home, the easiest solution is ‘Instant Mug Cake’. If you have a microwave, it can be made in less than 5 minutes. The recipe is very versatile and you can add Cocoa, Coffee, Chocolate Chips, Fruit Jam, Banana, OR anything you want. Today I added Frozen Blueberries and White Chocolate Chips. Microwave is such an amazing cooking tool.


1 Serving *I used 380ml mug


1 tablespoon Butter *1 tablespoon is 15ml
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 Egg
4 tablespoons Self-Raising Flour
2-3 tablespoons Blueberries *fresh OR frozen
1 tablespoon White Chocolate Chips OR coarsely chopped block

  1. Place Butter in a mug, microwave for 20-30 seconds OR until Butter melts. Add Sugar and mix well.
  2. Add Egg and mix well, add Flour and mix well until smooth. Add Blueberries and White Chocolate, and roughy combine.
  3. Microwave for 1 to 1 & 1/2 minutes OR until cooked. *Note: Try not to over-cook it as the cake turns dry and hard. I cooked 1 & 1/2 minutes in my 1100W microwave.
