When I was young and single, I made this rice bowl dish very often. Because it was easy, quick, cheap, yummy and nutritious. You don’t need to cook Sardines because you use Canned Sardines. Why don’t you try this rice bowl once?  I am quite certain you will enjoy this dish.

1 Serving

1 Canned Sardines *about 100g
1/2 teaspoon Grated Fresh Ginger
1/2 teaspoon Chilli Garlic Sauce OR Toban Djan (Chili Bean Sauce)
2 teaspoons Soy Sauce
1 Spring Onion *finely chopped
1/2 Nori Sheet *torn into small pieces
1/2 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
1 serving Cooked Rice

  1. Drain the canned Sardines and place them in a bowl. Add Ginger, Chilli Garlic Sauce, Soy Sauce and Spring onion, and mix to combine.
  2. Half fill a bowl with Freshly Cooked Rice or warmed cooked rice, and cover it with the sardine mixture. Place Nori and Toasted Sesame Seeds on top, and enjoy.
