When I need to make one more dish for dinner, a simple salad is my first option. This Cucumber & Tuna Salad is quick & easy. I cut the Cucumber in a fancy way today, in the same way as Cucumber Snake.


4 Servings


1 large Continental Cucumber
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 can (95g) Tuna *drained, I used Tuna in Springwater

1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds *lightly ground
1/2 to 1 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
1 to 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil
1 teaspoon Chilli Garlic Sauce *OR Chilli Flakes and Garlic

  1. Cut Cucumber in bite-size pieces. Sprinkle Salt and toss to combine, then set aside. *Note: The Cucumber in the above photo was cut in the same way as Cucumber Snake.
  2. To make Dressing, toast Sesame Seeds in a saucepan until golden, then lightly grind until aromatic. Then add all other ingredients, and mix well.
  3. Combine the Cucumber, drained Tuna and the Dressing. Serve immediately.
