
Pork ‘Kakuni’ is not super easy dish to cook and long slow cooking is required, and that is not suitable for busy life style. If you have a pressure cooker, Pork ‘Kakuni’ is quick and easy.

Ingredients
800g Pork Belly Block (Boneless)
1 cup Water
1 to 2 small pieces Ginger *thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Sake
2 tablespoons Sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons Soy Sauce
Method
- Cut Pork Belly into 5cm cubes and place in a pressure cooker.
- Add Water enough to cover the meat. Add sliced Ginger, Sake, Sugar and Soy Sauce.
- Cook for about 20 minutes under pressure. When the lid can be removed, simmer uncovered until the sauce thickened.
If you don’t have a pressure cooker
Add slightly more Water, cover with a lid, and over medium low heat for 2 to 3 hours until the meat is absolutely tender.
