Pork_Kakuni

Pork ‘Kakuni’ is not super easy dish to cook and long slow cooking is required, and that is not suitable for busy life style. If you have a pressure cooker, Pork ‘Kakuni’ is quick and easy.

Ingredients

800g Pork Belly Block (Boneless)
1 cup Water
1 to 2 small pieces Ginger *thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Sake
2 tablespoons Sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons Soy Sauce

Method
  1. Cut Pork Belly into 5cm cubes and place in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add Water enough to cover the meat. Add sliced Ginger, Sake, Sugar and Soy Sauce.
  3. Cook for about 20 minutes under pressure. When the lid can be removed, simmer uncovered until the sauce thickened.
If you don’t have a pressure cooker

Add slightly more Water, cover with a lid, and over medium low heat for 2 to 3 hours until the meat is absolutely tender.
