Lemon Curd is easy to make, so is Orange Curd. You can make Orange Curd in the similar way as Lemon Curd, but you need to add Sugar cautiously because Orange Juice can be quite sweet. I usually don’t add Corn Starch to Lemon Curd, but for Orange Curd, it helps to stabilise the texture.

Makes

About 200ml

Ingredients

1 Egg
1 Egg Yolk
1/4 Sugar *add extra depending on the sweetness of the Orange Juice
1/4 cup Orange Juice
1 teaspoon finely grated Orange Zest
1 teaspoon Corn Starch *optional
50g Butter *cut into small cubes
*Note: If Orange Juice needs more sourness, you may wish to add some Lemon Juice. I don’t add Lemon Juice, but it’s your choice.

Method
  1. Whisk Egg and Egg Yolk with Sugar in a saucepan until smooth. Add Orange Juice, finely grated Orange Zest and Corn Starch, whisk well until well combined, then add Butter and whisk over low heat until boils and the mixture thickens.
  2. Transfer to sterilised jars and store in the fridge.
