This is my favourite Prawn & Avocado Salad. The sauce is simple to make. Mix Japanese Mayonnaise with a little bit of Soy Sauce and Wasabi. I love the flavour of this sauce, however, my family members hate Wasabi. They prefer ‘Seafood Cocktail Sauce’. So, this salad is just for me.
200g shelled small Prawns
1 Avocado *cut into small pieces
1 thin Spring Onion *finely chopped
2 tablespoons Japanese Mayonnaise
1/2 to 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
1/2 to 1 teaspoon Wasabi
- Prawns should be cooked in salted water and cooled. Remove shell and clean them. You would need about 50g shelled small Prawns per serve.
- Combine the Sauce ingredients in a bowl, add Prawns and Avocado, and gently mix to combine. Sprinkle with finely chopped Spring Onion on top and serve.
I made this for dinner last night. I added a little more wasabi than listed because I love the kick. It was delicious and I will make it again. Arigatou!
Kiara, thank you for your comment. I’m so glad to know you enjoyed this recipe. My family members don’t eat this dish. They hate Wasabi because it hurts their nose! I understand what they mean…
