When I was looking for Ukrainian foods on the internet and came across ‘Walnuts Stuffed Prunes’, I was not very interested. I was not a big fan of Dried Prunes, though I was fully aware of the health benefit of Prunes. ‘Walnuts Stuffed Prunes’ should be super easy to make, so I made a few. And ate one with Sour Cream, which I believe Ukrainians LOVE to eat with many things. It was delicious! What a great combination ‘Dried Prune, Walnuts and Sour Cream’ is!!!
Dried Pitted Prunes
Sour Cream to serve *OR Thickened Cream
- If you wish to soften the Dried Prunes, soak them in Water for a few hours OR until soft. Black Tea can be used. I used Black Tea today. Some people use Sweet Red Wine to soak Prunes.
- Break Roasted Walnuts into the size that fit inside the Prunes, and insert them in the softened Prunes.
- Enjoy ‘Walnuts Stuffed Prunes’ with Sour Cream. Lightly whipped Thickened Cream would be nice, too. *Note: No need to add Sugar to Sour Cream.
