If you love Gyoza, you must have your favourite way to cook them. I cook them using the traditional method of steam-frying with some water, but lately I have been cooking them with Tomato. This method is simple. Arrange everything in a non-stick frying pan, and cook until Gyoza is cooked. You don’t need a dipping Sauce as softly cooked Tomato, Garlic and Soy Sauce with some Chilli create a lovely sauce. Using the store-bought frozen Gyoza, this dish is quick and easy to prepare.

Makes

1 Serving

Ingredients

6 to 8 Gyoza *frozen is OK, I used Prawn Gyoza today
Oil *I used Sesame Oil
1 small clove Garlic *finely chopped
1/2 to 1 Tomato *cut into bite-size pieces
Chilli Flakes as required *optional
4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) Water *add extra if required
1 teaspoon Soy Sauce *add extra if required
Crispy Chilli Oil *optional, only if you have it

Method
  1. Use a small non-stick frying pan and a fitting lid. Today I used 20cm frying pan.
  2. Add a small amount of Oil to the frying pan, arrange Gyoza, Garlic and Tomato. Add some Chilli Flakes if you want to do so, then add Water. *Note: If you are cooking freshly made Gyoza, you might need extra Water.
  3. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat until the Water in the pan is evaporated. If not cooked yet, add extra Water and cook longer.
  4. Remove the lid, add Soy Sauce, and stir OR toss to combine. Transfer to a plate, add some Crispy Chilli Oil (*optional), and enjoy.
