At an event I attended, a woman and I started talking about Italian food as she was Italian descent. I told her I often cook Italian pasta with Soy Sauce, then she seemed very surprised. Are you surprised at a Spaghetti dish like this one, that is seasoned with Garlic, Butter and Soy Sauce? It is absolutely delicious to me.

Makes

1 Serving

Ingredients

1 serving (about 80g) Spaghetti
Salt for cooking Spaghetti
80g thinly sliced Pork Belly *cut into biter-size pieces
120g Asian Mushrooms *I recommend to use some different types
*Note: Today I used Shiitake, Shimeji, King Oyster Mushroom and Enoki
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon Chilli Flakes *alter the amount
10g Butter
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
Finely chopped Spring Onion
1/4 sheet Toasted Nori *shredded OR torn into small pieces

Method
  1. Cook Spaghetti in boiling salted water according to the instruction on the package. Prepare Pork, Mushrooms and Garlic.
  2. When Spaghetti are half-cooked, melt Butter in a frying pan over medium heat, and cook Pork until lightly browned. Add Garlic, Chilli Flakes and Mushrooms, and stir until Mushrooms are cooked. *Note: If you use Enoki, add Enoki at the very last.
  3. Add Soy Sauce and stir, then transfer the cooked Spaghetti with a little bit of salty water to the pan, and stir to combine.
  4. Add some finely chopped Spring Onion and Toasted Nori, and enjoy.
