On this website, I have shared many super easy rice bowl recipes that can be made with canned fish. Many of them don’t require cooking. One of the popular recipes is ‘Super Easy Canned Sardines Rice Bowl’. This is another easy recipe. You don’t need to cook anything if you have already cooked Rice. When you are too tired after a busy day OR living on a tight budget, this dish can be a life saver.

Ingredients

1 can (105g) Salmon
1/2 to 1 Spring Onion *finely chopped
1 teaspoon White Miso
1 teaspoon Mirin
1/2 teaspoon Wasabi *add more if you dare
1 serving warm Cooked Rice
1/2 sheet Toasted Nori *torn into small pieces OR shredded
Toasted Sesame Seeds

Method
  1. In a small bowl, combine White Miso, Mirin and Wasabi.
  2. Drain canned Salmon, remove unwanted bones and skin if you choose to do so, and coarsely flake it. Add Salmon and Spring Onion to the Miso & Wasabi mixture, and mix to combine.
  3. Half fill a bowl with warm Cooked Rice and cover it with the Salmon mixture, add Nori on top, sprinkle with some Toasted Sesame Seeds, and enjoy.
