‘Corn Starch White Sauce’ is super easy to make and no technic is required. If you are cooking White Sauce for someone who has gluten allergy, this sauce is an option. Saucepan Method and Microwave Method are equally easy.
Ingredients
1 cup Milk
1 tablespoon Corn Starch
1 tablespoon (15g) Butter
15g Tasty Cheese (Cheddar) *grated OR torn into small pieces
1/4 teaspoon Salt *alter the amount to suit your taste
White Pepper
Method
- Place Milk and Corn Starch in a small saucepan, and mix well until blended well. Add Butter and bring to the boil over medium low heat, stirring.
- Once it is boiling and thickened, add grated Cheese and mix well. Season with Salt & White Pepper.
- *Note: This process can be done using the microwave. Place Milk and Corn Starch in a heat-proof bowl, mix well, and heat in the microwave for 1 minute, and stir. Then heat again and bring to the boil, and stir well. Add Cheese and season with Salt & White Pepper.
