‘Pan-fried Cheese & Potato’ was my quick and easy cheese & potato snack when I was a financially challenged Uni student. After I purchased a microwave, this snack was added to my repertoire. You can’t make crispy chips, but you can fulfil your craving for chips!
1 handful Grated Tasty Cheese
1 Potato *cut into 1cm thick strips
Salt & Pepper
Dry Grated Parmesan *optional
- Place a sheet of baking paper on a heat-proof plate. Arrange the Potato strips on the paper, season with Salt & Pepper, and scatter the grated Cheese over.
- Microwave for 5 to 6 minutes. *Note: If you wish the potato strips and cheese browned evenly, rearrange them halfway through cooking. You may need to cook extra time.
- Sprinkle with freshly ground Pepper and grated Parmesan and enjoy.
- *Note: Oven bake is more satisfying but it takes longer time. For the below photo, seasoned frozen chips were used.
