I like Supermarket Coles’ ‘Kaleslaw Salad Kit’ because I like the flavour of its dressing. I have many times tried to recreate its flavour. One reasonably good result was ‘Yoghurt Dressing’, but I was still not sure how to make the creamy texture of the dressing, but I finally discovered. Use Buttermilk!
Makes
About 200ml
Ingredients
1/2 cup Buttermilk
1/4 cup Japanese Mayonnaise *OR Mayonnaise or your choice
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice OR Vinegar
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/8 teaspoon ground White Pepper OR Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Dry Dill *OR 1 teaspoon finely chopped Fresh Dill
*Note: Instead of Dill, you can use Parsley, OR both.
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. You may wish to add some Ground Chilli.
- *Note: Add some Sour Cream to make the dressing thicker and richer. It will be a great dip for Vegetable sticks.
