The deep-fried pork cutlet coated with panko breadcrumbs is called ‘Tonkatsu’ in Japanese. These days, for health benefits, more and more people cook them in the oven rather than deep-fry. It is much easier and I love this method.

Ingredients
Pork Steaks 4 *500 to 600g
Salt and Pepper as required
Plain Flour as required
Egg 1 to 2
Panko Breadcrumbs as required
Oil to spray *optional
Method
- Preheat the oven to 220°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper or lightly oil.
- If you prefer, cut the Pork Steaks into bite size pieces. Sprinkle some Salt and Pepper over and coat with Flour.
- Then dip them in beaten Egg and finally coat with Panko Breadcrumbs.
- Place on the tray, spray oil lightly and bake for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the pork, or until cooked.
