Since I discovered the pan-steaming method to cook Broccoli, and it is the best & easiest way to cook Broccoli, I tried to cook Cauliflower in the same way. It works but it seems I need a little more water for Cauliflower. Today I added grated Cheese. As the result was so good, I must write down how I cooked this dish.
Makes
4 Servings
Ingredients
500g Cauliflower *about 1/2 of a large head, cut into small florets
1 tablespoon Oil *I used Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
2 pinches Salt
3 to 4 tablespoons Water
1 cup (about 100g) coarsely grated Cheese *I used Cheese Mix for baking (mix of Cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan)
Black Pepper
Method
- Drizzle Oil over a non-stick frying pan and arrange Cauliflower pieces. Sprinkle with Garlic, Water and Salt. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for a few minutes.
- When the Water in the pan is evaporated, remove the lid, toss or turn the Cauliflower pieces over.
- Scatter grated Cheese evenly, cover with the lid again, and cook until the Cheese is melted. Remove the lid and cook until nicely browned.
- Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with some freshly ground Black Pepper, and extra Salt if required.
