I wonder who invented this drink. I discovered it on the internet and many people are sharing the almost identical recipe. I was very skeptical about whipping up Instant Coffee mixed with Sugar, but I wanted to try. It was an experiment for me, so I tried with ordinary White Sugar, Caster Sugar and Powdered Sugar. All worked well, but it was very bitter as the amount of Instant Coffee Granule was too much for me, even though I love strong coffee. This is the recipe and method I recommend to those who want to try this interesting drink.

Makes

2 Servings

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Instant Coffee Granules *1 tablespoon is 15ml
2 tablespoons Caster Sugar
2 tablespoons Warm Water
2 servings chilled Milk *e.g. 200ml per serve
Ice Cubes *optional

Method
  1. Place Instant Coffee Granules, Caster Sugar and Warm Water in a mixing bowl, and use a whisk (small whisk is easier to use) to mix well. Then keep whisking until soft peaks form. Do not worry, it will eventually turn into thick foam. *Note: I recommend to leave it in the fridge to chill.
  2. Half fill glasses with cold Milk, you may wish to add some Ice Cubes, then spoon the whipped Coffee on the Milk as it floats on it. Enjoy with a drinking straw OR long handle tea spoon.
