This is another way to enjoy the nutritious Nattō, fermented Soy Beans. I know many people dislike the slimy texture and smell of Nattō. My suggestion to enjoy it is mixing Nattō with other ingredients that have similar texture OR strong smell. This rice bowl is really enjoyable and packed with plant-based nutrients.

Makes

1 Serving

Ingredients

150g to 200g Silken Tofu *OR other soft type Tofu
1 container Natto *with sauce and mustard

1/4 Avocado *cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons Kimchi
1 serving warm Cooked Rice
Soy Sauce
Finely chopped Spring Onion
1/4 sheet Toasted Nori *torn into small pieces OR shredded
Toasted Sesame Seeds
Crispy Chilli Oil OR Chilli Sauce *optional

Method
  1. Break OR cut Silken Tofu into bite-size pieces, place in a shallow bowl, and warm up in the microwave for 30 seconds. Then set aside for 1-2 minutes, so that a lot of water would come out fairly quickly. Drain well.

  2. Mix Nattō with sauce and mustard that are most likely included in the container, add Avocado and Kimchi, and mix to combine.
  3. Half fill a bowl with warm Cooked Rice, place drained Silken Tofu, drizzle with a little Soy Sauce, and cover with the Nattō mixture.
  4. Add Toasted Nori and some finely chopped Spring Onion on top, sprinkle with some Toasted Sesame Seeds, add Crispy Chilli Oil (OR Chilli Sauce) if you like, and enjoy.
