It is ‘Spaghetti Neapolitan’ and is not miss-spelled. It sounds like ‘Spaghetti Napolitana’ but it is different. Actually it is a Japanese dish. ‘Spaghetti Neapolitan’ is a dish of cooked spaghetti pan-fried with vegetables and seasoned with KETCHUP!!! I always add Tabasco as well.
‘Spaghetti Neapolitan’ used to be a very popular in Japan when I was young. It was often served at old-fashioned coffee shops in any town. It was also a popular menu for school lunch.

Ingredients

Spaghetti 200g
Smoked Sausages 4 small *OR 2 Hot Dogs
Onion 1/2
Green Capsicum 1/2 *OR 1 sweet green pepper
Carrot 1/4
Oil 1 tablespoon
Ketchup 4 tablespoons
Worcestershire Sauce (Lea & Perrins) 1 to 2 teaspoons *can be replaced by Soy Sauce
Tabasco 1/2 teaspoon
Salt & Pepper
Parmesan Cheese *grated

Method
  1. Cook Spaghetti in boiling slated water according to the instruction on the package.

  2. Slice sausages into bite size pieces and vegetables thinly into strips.

  3. Combine Ketchup, Worcestershire Sauce and Tabasco in a small bowl. Check the flavour and alter to suit your taste. You may wish to add more Tabasco.

  4. Heat Oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. Cook sausage pieces and vegetables for a minute or two. Add the Ketchup mixture and season with Salt & Pepper.

  5. Add the cooked and drained Spaghetti and stir to combine well.

  6. Enjoy with some grated Parmesan Cheese if you like.
