This Doria tastes like Lasagna. It is super easy to cook if you have Cooked Rice. White Sauce (Béchamel Sauce) is also easy if you have microwave. Doria is my family’s favourite rice dish. Find more Doria recipes.

Ingredients
500g Chicken Thigh Fillets *cut into bite-size pieces
1 Onion *finely chopped
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
1 tablespoon Olive Oil *OR Oil of your choice
1/2 tablespoon Italian Herb Mix *OR mix of Basil, Marjoram, Oregano, Parsley, Thyme, etc.
Salt & Pepper
4 tablespoons Tomato Paste *OR Tomato Pasta Sauce as required
4 servings warm Cooked Rice
1-2 teaspoons Oil *for greasing the baking dish
1 cup grated Tasty Cheese OR Cheese of your choice
White Sauce
40g Butter
1/4 cup Plain Flour
2 cups Milk
Salt & Pepper
*Note: White Sauce can be cooked in the microwave and it is very easy. See ‘Super Easy White Sauce’ page.
Method
- Preheat oven to 200℃.
- Heat Oil in a large frying pan, cook Chicken, Onion and Garlic until Chicken is cooked. Add Italian Herb Mix, season with Salt & Pepper quite well, then add Tomato Paste (OR Tomato Pasta Sauce as much as required) and mix well. Add Cooked Rice and combine. More Salt and Pepper if required.
- To make White Sauce, heat Butter in a saucepan over medium heat until melted and foaming, add Flour and cook stirring until mixture bubbles. Slowly add Milk, stirring constantly until sauce boils and thickens. Season with Salt & Pepper.
- *Note: White Sauce can be cooked in the microwave, and it is much easier. See ‘Super Easy White Sauce’ page.
- Lightly oil a large ovenproof dish, place the Chicken and Rice mixture, and pour the White Sauce over the Rice. Cover with grated Cheese, and bake for 20 minutes or until golden.
