My ‘Curry Sauce’ goes well with Steaks, Roasts, ‘Tonkatsu’ and ‘Chicken Katsu’, and many more, and it is easy to make using Japanese Curry Roux Blocks. Today I enjoyed Tacos with the Curry Sauce, just for a change.

Makes

4 Servings

Ingredients

Tortillas *OR Flatbreads
Roast Chicken *I bought it from a shop today. You may wish to cook Chicken yourself. Season it simply.
Shredded Cheese *e.g. Cheddar
Vegetables *e.g. Lettuce, Tomato, Capsicum, Cucumber, Onion, Coriander, Corn, etc.

Curry Sauce
1-2 teaspoons Oil
1/2 Onion *finely chopped
1 small clove Garlic *finely chopped
1 teaspoon grated Ginger
1 Tomato *finely chopped
1/2 cup Water *plus extra
20g Curry Roux (Sauce Mix)

Method
  1. To make Curry Sauce, heat Oil in a saucepan over medium heat, cook Onion for a few minutes. Add Garlic and Ginger, and cook until lightly browned. Add Tomato and cook for a few minutes.
  2. Add Water and Curry Block, and cook until the Curry Block is dissolved and thickened. Add extra Water to achieve the required thickness.
  3. Enjoy with shredded Chicken and Vegetables of your choice.
