Frozen Blueberries are good value. I always stock a bag of them, so that I can add some to my breakfast porridge. Using Frozen Blueberries that are ready to use anytime, it is super easy to make this Blueberry Sauce, that can be added to Cheesecake, Pancakes, Yoghurt, and many more. It is much healthier than Blueberry Jam.
Ingredients
1 cup Frozen Blueberries
2 tablespoons Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Corn Starch *optional, mixed with 1/2 teaspoon Water
Method
- Place Frozen Blueberries and Sugar in a heat-proof bowl, cook in the microwave for 1-2 minutes OR until soft. Gently stir, bring to the boil, then stir again. Cool completely. The sauce will slightly thicken when cooled.
- If you wish to make the sauce thicker, stir in Corn Starch mixture, then bring back to the boil and stir.
- *Note: You can use Frozen Mixed Berries to make different flavoured sauce. Depending on the sourness of the Berries, you might need to add extra Sugar.
