To cook Broccoli, steam-frying in a frying pan is the easiest method. Today I used Butter instead of Oil and seasoned with Soy Sauce. ‘Butter & Soy Sauce’ is a great combination and anything tastes good in the flavour. This is another super quick and easy Broccoli dish.

Ingredients
1 large head Broccoli *cut into small florets, thick stem sliced
20g Butter
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
Chilli Flakes as required *optional
2 to 3 tablespoons Water
Sauce
2 to 3 teaspoons Soy Sauce
2 to 3 teaspoons Mirin *read ‘Method 1’
Method
- Combine Soy Sauce and Mirin in a small bowl. *Note: Mirin adds sweetness to the sauce. If you don’t have Mirin, you can use Soy Sauce only.
- Melt Butter in a frying pan over medium heat, arrange Broccoli pieces, scatter Garlic and Chilli, then add Water. Cover with a lid and steam-cook for a few minutes.
- When the water in the pan is evaporated, remove the lid, and keep cooking until slightly browned. Add the Sauce and stir to combine. When the sauce thickens, it’s done.
