To cook Broccoli, steam-frying in a frying pan is the easiest method. Today I used Butter instead of Oil and seasoned with Soy Sauce. ‘Butter & Soy Sauce’ is a great combination and anything tastes good in the flavour. This is another super quick and easy Broccoli dish.

Makes

4 Servings

Ingredients

1 large head Broccoli *cut into small florets, thick stem sliced
20g Butter
1 clove Garlic *finely chopped
Chilli Flakes as required *optional
2 to 3 tablespoons Water

Sauce
2 to 3 teaspoons Soy Sauce
2 to 3 teaspoons Mirin *read ‘Method 1’

Method
  1. Combine Soy Sauce and Mirin in a small bowl. *Note: Mirin adds sweetness to the sauce. If you don’t have Mirin, you can use Soy Sauce only.
  2. Melt Butter in a frying pan over medium heat, arrange Broccoli pieces, scatter Garlic and Chilli, then add Water. Cover with a lid and steam-cook for a few minutes.
  3. When the water in the pan is evaporated, remove the lid, and keep cooking until slightly browned. Add the Sauce and stir to combine. When the sauce thickens, it’s done.
